Jeans & Dreams – March 23, 2019
There is a student at MVL who dreams of singing in a famous concert hall for hundreds of people. Another student at MVL dreams of watching their sacrifice-fly soar into left field to bring home the winning run in a college-level game. There is a student at MVL who dreams of being on the team of research scientists that finds the cure.
You can help cultivate those dreams. All you need is a pair of jeans.
This was the message for the reenvisioned annual Booster Club Auction: “Jeans & Dreams.”
When reflecting on the planning process, event co-chair Angie Brau said, “These words came to mind: purposeful, embracing, and celebratory. As such, our committee worked to create an event where everyone in Charger Nation felt welcome to come out, celebrate this magnificent school, and raise funds for items needed at MVL!”
The event saw many new features besides the denim attire. Jeans & Dreams was held on the evening of Saturday, March 23 at the historic Turner Hall in New Ulm. From a “buy it now” table to a “mystery box,” attendees were intrigued and excited. Plus, the classic silent auction and the live auction—led by Mages Auctioneers and National Honor Society students —were a success.
Booster Club President David Bendix added, “We could not be any happier with how the event turned out! Everyone seemed to have had a great time, and it looks like we raised over $25,000.”
Thank you to all who checked out the online auction, came to Turner Hall, and supported the dreams of MVL students. Additionally, extra thanks goes out to the committee and volunteers for planning and executing this event.
Together we will continue to provide the tools needed to nurture the many talents and dreams of the students at MVL!
