What do you want in a high school? An academic challenge? Great co-curricular activities? Fun with friends? A Christian education? MVL can offer that and more to you!

Admissions Policy

Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School (MVL) offers Christian secondary education to anyone who desires a high school education based upon the Word of God. In light of Acts 10:34-35, “God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right,” Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin, nor disability, insofar as the administration of its educational policies, scholarship programs, athletic and other school-administered programs are concerned.

As a parochial school and non-profit institution, Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School reserves the right to refuse enrollment or to disenroll students whose personal or family’s beliefs or morals conflict with the Word of God as taught at MVL. This We Believe is a publication that provides information on the beliefs espoused by Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School. Other documents on current faith topics can be found here. No student shall at any time contest or undermine the stated purpose of the school or doctrines of the WELS as revealed in Scripture, in or outside the classroom. No student shall solicit support for religious convictions contrary to those doctrines. A lack of cooperation with the school as it carries out its mission may also result in disenrollment.

Those families and students interested in Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School who hold church affiliations other than the WELS or ELS should first plan to meet with MVL administration in order to carefully evaluate the school’s mission and beliefs. When unity in spirit and purpose is clearly communicated by the enrollee and family, applications are encouraged and readily considered. Biblical fellowship principles will be communicated and applied when necessary.

Academics

While co-curricular activities, friends, and fun are an important part of high school, what really matters are the academics. MVL offers a curriculum for students who are preparing for college, for the ministry, the military, technical college or the workplace.

The academic education of God’s children is the framework around which MVL is built. Scripture tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and God’s Word colors every academic endeavor. A large percentage of our graduates pursue a post secondary education. Freshmen and sophomore classes offer a solid foundation upon which to prepare students for the electives that are offered in the junior and senior years. Each student is to take at least six academic credits per semester. Students planning to enter college are encouraged to plan their high school course of study carefully in order to meet entrance requirements for the school(s) of their choice.
